Nov. 27, 2016: The members of Sacred Heart Ward celebrated Christmas on 27th November, 2016, the first Sunday of Advent, in the Basement Hall at 5-30 p.m.
Our Parish Priest, Rev.Fr. Stany Pereira and Asst.Parish Priest, Rev.Fr. Johnson Sequeira were present. To begin with, the Ward Leader, Ms. Grace Lasrado said a prayer and then welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a Prayer Dance by 2 sisters, Edna and Elma.
Mrs. Violet Mathias read the Annual Report after which Mr. Alwyn Pinto gave the details of the Statement of Accounts. Two families who have recently come to reside in this Ward were welcomed and the prize winners of various Inter-Parish/School/College Competitions and Events were felicitated.
Fr. Stany and Fr. Johnson gave their X'mas messages and appreciated the members' participation in this programme.
There was a good round of entertainment by young and old with song, dance and drama. Mrs. Fiona D'souza and Ms. Caroline Sartho conducted games for all age-groups. Members who celebrated their birthdays and wedding anniversaries in November and December were greeted.
The highlight of the evening was the singing of carols and the arrival of Santa Claus with sweets and gifts for every child.
Mrs. Rose D'souza and Mrs. Irene Pinto ably compered the programme.
As a grand finale, a sumptuous fellowship meal was served.
