Nov. 26, 2016: The Choir members, who celebrated the feast of their patron St Cecilia on the 22nd of November 2016, had a get-together on Saturday, the 26th of November, in the Urwa Parish Conference Hall.
The programme commenced at 6:30p.m. with a hymn in honour of St Cecilia. Konkani choir member Jenny Mathias compeered the programme. Anitha Cutinha, secretary, welcomed the gathering.
Parish Priest Fr Stany Pereira addressed the choir members and spoke about the importance of being a choir member in rendering active and meaningful service to the Church community.
The members of the children’s choir presented a dance and sang a couple of songs. The English Choir members enacted and sang theme based songs which were appreciated by all the choir members.
The Konkani choir members conducted a variety of games for kids and adults. All the members actively participated in the games. The children had fun and so did the adults. The games concluded with Housie-Housie.
There was a Karaoke session as well and a few members sang some popular Konkani songs.
Sarita Gonsalves proposed the Vote of Thanks. Fr Johnson Sequeira, asst Parish Priest invoked God’s Blessing on the gathering and said the Grace before meals.
During sumptuous dinner, there was a short presentation on a few of the different styles of Choral singing in some of the countries. The programme concluded by 9:30p.m.
