Apr 15, 2017: The Symbolically enriched Feast of Easter was celebrated today with the Easter Vigil. It was the time to rejoice in the Lord who rose up again from the dead. It was also the occasion to thank the Almighty for the gift of salvation through the Resurrection of His only Son.
The ceremony began with the blessing of fire and Easter Candle. Easter Candle was taken in procession. Exultet was sung. The water was blessed and baptismal vows were renewed. Rev Fr Gerald D’Souza, Secretary CBE was the main celebrant while Rev Fr Stany Pereira, Fr Johnson Sequeira, Fr Nelson Pais, Fr Jerome D’Souza, Fr Rohan Lobo joined in con-celebration.
Rev Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest thanked everyone for helping all through the Lenten season. After the mass, the decennial issue of Urwachi Zalak, parish bulletin was released by the dignitaries. Prizes of the winners of the Bible Quiz were also given.
