Apr. 13, 2017: Maundy Thursday, the first day of Easter Triduum was celebrated with more of devotion and zeal. It was the day to commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Order of Priesthood by Jesus at the last supper and His call to serve the humanity.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration began at 6 p.m. in the Church Grounds with Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira, ast parish priest being the main celebrant while Rev Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest, Rev Fr Nelson Pais, ast parish priest, Fr Gerald D’Souza, Fr Rohan Lobo, Fr Jerome D’Souza were the concelebrants. Rev Fr Rohan Lobo in his homily highlighted the significance of the incidents of last supper in our day today life.
Rev Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest washed the feet of the twelve chosen men and women of parish community. This was followed by the renewal of oath by the extraordinary ministers of Holy Eucharist in the presence of the Parish Priest.
After the Holy Communion, a procession to the Altar of Repose was held followed by adoration conducted by Rev Fr Nelson Pais. The parish community gathered in large numbers for the day’s celebration.
