Dec. 17, 2016: St Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa organized Sangraha Utsav-2016 on the 16th of December in the Urwa Church grounds.
‘Sangraha Utsav – 2016’ a unique display of stamps, postcards, coins, currencies, handwork of paper, embroidery, knitted work, art, paintings, flower arrangements, fruity and vegetable carvings, science models, clay models, antiques, stars, kites, lanterns and may others. The main objective is to inspire others and change by adopting a fresh outlook and see things differently.
The dignitaries, as the President was Rt. Rev. Dr. Aloysius P. D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Honourable MLA Mr. J. R. Lobo, Honourable MLC Mr. Ivan D’Souza, Ex-Minister, Mr. Nagaraj Shetty, D.D.P.I. Mr. Walter D’Mello, Urwa Pastoral Committee Vice-President Mr. Hilary D’Souza and Secretary Mrs. Geneview Mathias, Ex-Vice President Mr. Kevin Martis, School Managing Committee Members, Headmistress’ of Kannada Primary School and Pompei High School, Special invitees were Mr. Sarvesh Rao Kites International and Mr. Dinesh Holla the artist.
Programme began with a prayer to God, The Almighty in the form of a Dance. The guests were welcomed warmly by the Correspondent Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira and the students welcomed with a song. The inauguration was done simultaneously by painting a sketch as well as the rangoli to the tune of classical music. All the dignitaries expressed their appreciation to this programme and stressed upon the need of having such programmes for children not only to display their talents but also to use their leisure time fruitfully and wisely. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Judith Fernandes, PTA Executive member.
Different stalls were inaugurated in creative ways by the various club co-ordinators. Neighbouring school students visited this Sangraha Utsav – 2016 till evening.
