Dec. 25, 2016: Christmas was celebrated on 24th December at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Urwa. At 7.00p.m. parishioners gathered in the church ground and started singing carols lead by choir members. The mass was celebrated at 7.30p.m. by Rev. Fr Anil Crasta, designated director of Orbit, Gulbarga Diocese. Rev. Fr Stany Pereira – Parish Priest, Fr Johnson Sequeira and Fr Nelson Pais - Asst Parish Priests con-celebrated the mass.
After the mass, the children presented a tableau on birth of Jesus. Cake was auctioned, Housie Housie game was conducted for all. Santa Claus gave a Christmas message and distributed chocolates to the children. Small Children below the age of 5 came forward to the stage to cut the Christmas cake. At the end cake was distributed to all.
The Christmas Crib added special attraction to the already joyous occasion.
