Nov. 27, 2017: The members of Our Lady of Fathima Ward came together to honour Mother Mary and to celebrate their ward’s feast day on Sunday, the 26th of November. The celebration began with their active participation in the Liturgy of the morning Mass.
The social celebration of the feast began at 11:30 a.m. in the Basement Hall. It was graced by the presence of Rev Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest, Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira, asst parish priest, Mrs Lucy D’Souza, Secretary of PPC and ward leaders of other wards. Ward members under the leadership of Mrs Monica D’Souza conducted the prayer service. Ward anthem composed by Mr Wenceslaus Pais was sung by the ward members during the prayer service. Ward Leader Mrs Ida Pinto welcomed the gathering. Mrs Blanch D’Almeida, ward representative shed light on the activities of the ward in recent past. Mrs Melanie Roche, Mr Wenceslaus Pais and Mr Melwyn D’Souza enthralled the gathering through their instrumental music piece. Budding talents of the ward viz., Andrea and Ana D’Souza, Clide and Clive Rego gave scintillating dance performance. Housie Housie game was conducted and the winners were felicitated by the Parish Priest. Mrs Lucy D’Souza, Secretary of PPC was greeted on the occasion of her birthday. Fr Stany Pereira in his message briefed the origin of SCC in the Church and called upon the ward members to remain ever united. While Mrs Daina Rego compeered the entire programme, Mr Leslie Pais proposed the vote of thanks. The day came to an end with the sumptuous food.
