Oct. 2, 2016: Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
We, Aloysians celebrated Gandhi’s Birthday in school on 2nd October 2016 with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. The assembly by Std V ‘A’ and ‘B’ began with a special tribute to Gandhiji. Gandhiji‘s portrait was decorated with garland. Notice board was highlighting the day’s importance.
Evania Veigas of Std V ‘B’ was the M.C for the day assembly. Prayer Service began with Morning Prayer led by Aries Rego followed by prayer song, intentions and thought for the day. Aldrein of Std V ‘A’ highlighted the importance of the day.
The highlight of assembly was songs glorifying peace and nonviolence. To instill the feel of the day, children dressed as Gandhiji visited each class with their followers. The Assembly concluded with National Anthem.
