Sep. 09, 2018: The feast of Nativity of Mother Mary popularly known as Monthi Fest and family feast was celebrated with joy and happiness on Sep 8 at Urwa Church. The celebration began with the procession from the house of Mr. Augustine D’Souza, wherein Mother Mary was honoured publicly. On reaching the Church, children offered flowers to Infant Mary.
Rev Fr Pius James D'Souza, OCD, the Episcopal Vicar for Religious celebrated the festal mass along with Stany Pereira, parish priest and asst parish priest Rev Fr Jason Lobo. The new corn was blessed by Rev Fr Pius James D'Souza and distribute it to all the ward leaders and representatives. After the Mass sugar canes were distributed to all the gathered. Parishioners participated in large numbers in the liturgical celebration.
