May 29, 2019: St. Joseph Ward Kandet, celebrated their ward day on Sunday 26th May, 2019 in the Church Main Hall. The celebration began with an introduction by the M.C. Ms. Anjali Baptist, followed by Welcome Speech by Gurkar Mr. Lloyd Lobo. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, Rev. Fr. Jason Lobo and other Gurkars of our parish were welcomed with bouquet of flowers. The prayer service commenced by lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira who was accompanied by Asst. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jason Lobo, parish vice President Mr. Francis Saldanha and Secretary Mrs. Lucy D’souza along with the ward Gurkar. This was followed by a short Prayer Song, Bible reading and prayer of the faithful and ended with a hymn in honor of Mother Mary. The Ladies Group sang a Well – Wishing Song in their melodious voices. The Annual Ward Report was presented by Mr. Dylan Lobo through a Slide- show presentation “Down Memory Lane” whereby all the Ward Activities conducted during the year 2017-18 & 2018 -19 were shown and it was indeed a Joy to Look back. There were lots of entertainment programmes, whereby all ward members exhibited their talents by way of Dances & Skits (Children, Ladies & Gents dance). Games for children, youths, elders and Spot Games were conducted by Mrs. Jennifer Baptist. Winners were awarded with prizes. A short felicitation programme was organized and SSLC Examination Toppers and Bible Quiz winners were honored with gifts and flowers. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira applauded the Gurkar, Ward Representatives and all ward members for their active participation in the ward as well as church activities. Mr. Philip D’souza gave a Vote of thanks. Dinner was served by reciting the Grace before Meals by Fr. Jason Lobo. To treasure the memories of the celebration a Group Photograph of all the ward members was clicked. In the end all the members danced to the tune of the Baila.
