May 5, 2019: Urwa parishioners witnessed a wonderful parish day on 5th May 2019. A preparation of many weeks gave a satisfaction on this parish day.
Sunday morning at 10 am, around 150 parishioners joined in the basement hall to cut the food items to prepare the dinner for evening. At 4.30pm all parishioners gathered in the church to thank God for all the gifts bestowed on our parish. Msg. Rev Fr Maxim Noronha, the vicar General of Mangalore diocese was the main celebrant of the Eucharist. In his homily he preached on the importance of parish and the unity in the parish. Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira was the guest and parish priest Rev Fr Stany Pereira and asst parish priest Rev Fr Jason Lobo, concelebrated the Eucharist. The Liturgy was conducted by the ward leaders and representatives. After the Mass all gathered in the main hall for the cultural program. The chief guest of the day, Msg. Rev Fr Maxim Noronha, called all build unity in the parish. Mr. Francis Saldanha the vice president of the parish welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Lucy D’Souza the secretary verbalized the vote of thanks. The masters of the whole program were Ms. Rosita Sequeira and Mrs. Sheela Mascarenhas. The winners of Bible quiz which was conducted last month were given the prizes. Seven wards performed the cultural program. The dance of Ms Anisha and jokes of some parishioners added the beauty to the cultural evening. There after the sumptuous dinner was served at 8.15pm to all the parishioners.
