2016: First Holy Communion

The day finally dawned on 24th April 2016, for 20 children who were preparing to receive Jesus for the first time in their hearts. The First Holy Communion was given by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr Stany Pereira during the solemn Mass in the presence of Fr Amith Rodrigues, Asst Parish Priest, Fr Victor D’Mello, Fr Jeevan Sequeira, Fr Valerian Rodrigues, Fr. Roshan OFM Cap, and Fr Prakash Menezes O.P. The parents and relatives of first communicants were a witness to this happy grace filled occasion.

The First Holy Communion was held on Sunday, 24th April 2016, during the 9.30 a.m mass. A large crowd of faithful attend the mass. The whole liturgy was conducted by the children. The children were given instructions on communion during the year on Sundays. A special training was given to the First Communicants by,Mrs. Dorothy Lobo and Miss Laveena D’Souza and Fr Amith Rodrigues guided them in preparing the liturgy and teaching the catechism.

After the Mass the children were honoured with a Rosary, Scapular and certificate. And thereafter was a photo session and a short reception which was arranged by the Parish priests for the first communicants.
